I have been visiting Montauk my entire life and will continue. Now my grown kids come on their own. A fishing/beach town that has amped up its game..boutiques, 4 star chefs, great lodging. But at the end of the day it is the beach. If you stay in a hotel on the beach side, town is right there & you dont need to ever move your car till you go home! Grab a coffee from the Bake Shoppe, and a wrap from Joni's..wander over and spend the day in the sand & surf. Shop at Land Shark for you sweatshirts or Kai Kai for flip flops, blankets & Ray Bans, head over to Duryea for sunsets & the best salads & lobster dinners..end the night with mini golf & ice cream at John's Drive in. Writing this makes me want to jump in the car and head back there.

Montauk is great. A Wave Inn not great.
Montauk is great. A Wave Inn not great. The rooms while clean are for husband and wife used to sleeping in a tiny Hard bed and 1 kid. I was with my 2 older sons, none of whom wanted to sleep close to each other or me in a tight bed. Therefore I ended up sleeping in the car. Also, to make sure they make up for unsold rooms they have some undesirable tenants living on premises. There is no way to get in tough with anyone who works there after 6 or so. If you have a problem you are on your own. I wouldnt go back there if the room was free.

Motel ran out of pool towels and coffee pods. We had a view of pool and could see the sound too. 👍 Our neighbors were fighting and very loud. Had to drive into town. Nothing walking distance. Ate at the Inlet, one of my favorite places!

We have been going to Montauk for 50 years and this is the first time we have seen so many small shops and restaurants near Gosman’s dock closed. When we asked a local fisherman on the dock what has happened to the businesses he said that the town has gone down. Famous Salivars restaurant is now only open on the weekends etc…
We went to John’s Pancakes for breakfast and it was empty. Anthony’s across the street was packed??

end of October is very quiet, the ocean is my first need with ocean breeze
three days at the Royal Atlantic and I am 10 years younger
I feel more relax and ready for the sirens of New York city again !
The shuttle bus from East Hampton to Montauk is only 75cts !
I went to the Harbor and the Docks...to eat plenty of mussels.
Lovely
The property was located at the north end of lake Montauk and my room had a view of the LI sound as it was one of the FEW corner unit with a common balcony. The hotel did have a heated pool that i didn't have a chance to use given the day trips we took. The hotel is located near Grossmans shopping and restaurants - and fishing / boats to Block Island - both of which have LARGE parking lots if you don't stay close by. So no need to really stay in the area.
Wonderful hotel - centrally located, very clean and well maintained, great pool and access to beach (inc. beach chair and umbrellas)
Loved the garden and the fire pit which was available every night until 11 pm and appreciated the complimentary coffee and muffins/fruit they provide fresh every morning.
This will be our new address in Montauk - a bit pricey but worth every penny
Give it a try - you won’t regret it !
The location is great, super close to the center of Montauk and a lot of restaurants. We were there during the off season, so the fire pits were a great added benefit. The hotel is close to the beach which I’m sure is great during peak season. They also have bikes (with helmets and locks) so you can ride around town or even all the way to Montauk lighthouse (about 5.5 miles away). The staff are friendly and helpful.
I always try to get a loft room. This was the best one I’ve ever had. The bedroom was so spacious and I think is the first time I’ve got a king size bed and all the times I’ve been there. I love having the patio outside and I appreciate when I took the room asked for a room like this and I was able to get it. There is no other hotel in Montauk that I would ever use. This is my home away from home
We stayed across the street from the ocean in a suite with a pool and street view. It is a very nice size with a kitchen dividing the bedroom and living area. This makes it somewhat private for two couples or a family. The hotel is in a prime site downtown Montauk and walking distance to many restaurants, bars and stores.
Bring Fido lists the hotel as being pet friendly and my administrative assistant booked it for me and my small dog for a work trip. After checking in around 4 I was told at 10 pm my dog couldn’t stay and even though I had pre paid for the room I had to find other accommodations at 10 pm in Montauk.
For this price, you're paying for location and not much else (certainly not customer service). The beach access was very convenient, and the hotel is close to both Montauk and East Hampton. Check-in and check-out were contactless which is nice but the online forms were a little buggy.
The location, literally beach front offers stunning ocean views. You have the impression, with the unlimited ocean view, that it does all belongs to you... the best view I ever had. The kitchenette is ideal.
Great amenities and location, right on the beach and walking distance to Montauk shops. Pool is really nice and there's an outdoor shower. Our room had everything we needed and a nice back deck.
Such a friendly staff, beautiful property, large clean rooms with the most comfortable beds in all of Montauk! And I’ve stayed at pricey hotels like Marram and Kenny’s was nicer for the value!!
Right on the beach, not too crowded. Nice warm pool. Proximity to town. Very close to supermarket too. Very nice staff. Kitchen in room. Bedding fresh and new. Grills on deck. Great value.
I love the location. the hotel is right on the beach, but walking distance to the town. From the town you can get on the Hopper and travel to other parts without using your car.
This is a clean and friendly family motel in walking distance to the popular dock area in Montauk. Lovely pool area if you prefer to take a break from the beach.
Lovely boutique hotel/motel. Staff was great. Place was so cute. Great attention to detail, and the king bed was incredibly comfortable. Location was perfect.
renovated motel Style stay at Montauk. rooms were okay and liked the location (bit more quite). bike rental included despite bikes were inconvenient to ride
